DETERMINE THE CORRECT ROD LENGTH

1) If Your Firearm Has A High Cheek Piece That Will Interfere With A Rod Handle During Cleaning Or You Do Not Want Your Rod Handle To Travel Over Your Stock. Measure the Over All Length (OAL) Of Your Firearm In Inches. Enter Value Under Fireami OAL. If This ls Not The Case Proceed To Step 2.
2)Measure your Barrel Length Only. Round Up To The Nearest Half Inch. Do Not Include Action Length In This Measurement. Enter Value Under Barrel Length.
3)If You Already Have A Bore/Patch Guide Measure The Over All Length (OAL) Of The Guide. Round UP To The Nearest Quarter Inch. Enter Value Under BorelPatch Guide Length.

Note: Different Manufactures Guides Vary In Length. Bore Tech Bore Guides Are: 13.75" OAL. Bore Tech Patch Guides Are: 16.5O" OAL. Bore Tech Patch Guide Plus Are: 12.5" OAL

4)The Recommend Rod Length ls Calculated By Adding 3 Inches To Either: Your Barrel Length + Your BorelPatch Guide Length OR Your Firearms OAL

The Additional 3 Inches Allows For Extra Room For Brush/Jag Clearance And Extra Room So You Do Not Hit The Back Of Your Bore/Patch Guide With Your Rod Handle As The Brush/Jag Exits The Muzzle End.

DETERMINE RIFLE TWIST RATE

1)To Measure the twist rate of the barrel, insert a proper size patch or brush into the bore until the indexing dots line up.

2)Measure from the back fo the rod handle to a convenient point (scope or bore guide).

3)Push the rod in until the indexing dots line up. Measure again.

4)To calculate the twist rate of the barrel deduct the first measurement from the second measurement. The remainder equals the twist rate of your barrel.
